Benetti’s annual gathering for captains, surveyors, owner representatives, and industry experts highlighted the shipyard’s latest innovations in design and sustainable technologies
Devised and launched with great passion and foresight by Azimut|Benetti Group founder Paolo Vitelli in 2000, the Benetti Yachtmaster has this year reached its 25th edition, held in the splendid setting of Marrakesh from February 12 to 14. With over 200 guests, the two-day event was organized for major international industry players, captains, surveyors and owner representatives to share their experiences.
Benetti GM Massimiliano Casoni emphasized the importance of collaboration within the shipbuilding industry, fostering trust-based relationships to maximize owner satisfaction. To this end, Benetti uses tools like the Net Promoter Score (NPS) to gauge customer satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
Casoni explained that Benetti’s success relies on continuous dialogue with key players, especially captains, to understand onboard needs and create bespoke yachts that meet the specific requirements of owners, captains, and crew, ensuring an exclusive yachting experience.
Benetti Sales Manager Daniela Petrozzi highlighted their order backlog through 2028, comprising 60 yachts (over 2.7km total length) tailored to individual owner needs. She noted the geographic distribution: Europe (35%), MEA/APAC (33%), and Americas (32%), and thanked the captains, brokers, and surveyors who contributed to 75% of those contracts.
Benetti, ‘The House of Yachting,’ emphasizes its commitment to excellence through design, craftsmanship, innovation, sustainability, and customization, said Head of Product Sebastiano Vida. To further enhance the owner experience, Benetti launched ‘Perspective from the Bridge,’ gathering captains’ insights on innovation, sustainability, and owner preferences.
R&D leaders Gilberto Francesini and Marco Coiatelli detailed Benetti’s ‘Green Route’ highlighting the use of HVO biofuel (reducing CO2 emissions up to 90%) and the upcoming adoption of green methanol in 2025, with a methanol engine room simulator planned for training. Warranty Managers Pierluigi Rago and Luigi Spina outlined new assistance programs for Class and Custom lines, providing personalized support throughout the yacht’s life cycle via dedicated Service Managers and a global network of Service Points.
